Gipsy Kings

The Gipsy Kings are a French band of Romani origin from Arles, formed in the late 1970s and internationally renowned for inventing and popularising the Nuevo Flamenco sound — a fusion of flamenco, pop, and Latin rhythms with the Gitane dialect of Romani. Led by the Reyes and Baliardo families, the group broke internationally with their 1987 self-titled album featuring the iconic track Bamboleo, which became a worldwide hit. Their sound — featuring acoustic guitars, handclapping, passionate vocals, and irresistible rhythmic energy — transcends language and culture, making them one of the most recognisable musical groups on the planet. The Gipsy Kings have sold over 30 million albums globally. Their performance at the Municipal Garden Theatre Marios Tokas in Limassol brought this legendary ensemble to one of Cyprus's most atmospheric open-air stages.
