Premiering in Cyprus! The play "The Square" is a deeply personal story about friendship, time, and change, immersing us in the atmosphere of the cabaret show "Attraction 90s."

The play was created by one of the most renowned directors of today's generation, Marfa Gorvits, a two-time winner of the Golden Mask Award. She has staged plays in Estonia, Norway, Germany, and Israel.

This production brings together an impressive male cast: Maxim Vitorgan, Evgeny Kulakov, Mikhail Umanets, Ruslan Barabanov. Old friends gather for a virtual alumni reunion to remember their childhood. In recent years they have been scattered to opposite sides of the barricades. The characters recreate and try to make sense of their story. Today, when the world and reality have changed beyond recognition, childhood friends separated by borders are forced to seek justification for themselves.

Can human relationships be preserved when everything around is collapsing? Is reconciliation possible if people view life from different sides? The documentary drama becomes a multilayered statement about how the personal intertwines with the historical, and how the past inevitably affects the present.

The meaning of what is happening on stage is harsh and cruel - there is no bright future. Nor is there a bright present. There is a past dark enough to discern in it what truly has value for you. What glows there in that darkness of the past, the kids from the yard play in the square…

The production's ensemble is well known to audiences.

Maxim Vitorgan - a star of theater and film, director, television and radio presenter, participant in many projects and reality shows.

Mikhail Umanets - actor, dubbing actor, director. Before moving to Israel he worked at the School of Dramatic Art theatre.

Evgeny Kulakov - theatre and film actor, known for the series "Sled", "Fizruk" and many others. He has participated in 99 projects in total.

Ruslan Barabanov - appeared in almost 100 films and series. Before moving to Israel he worked at the famous BDT named after Tovstonogov.
