About This Event
Vera Polozkova will mark her birthday with a special onstage program, presenting her new album Red Thread together with composer Alexander Manotskov. The concert is presented as part of the CITF International Theatre Festival.
The special anniversary program will feature poems that became iconic in previous years, texts from her new book, and, of course, songs from the new album.
Pop music, the folk traditions of different cultures, the Renaissance and Baroque, and even opera — this entire stylistic spectrum is embraced by two unaccompanied voices. For the first time in her life, Vera Polozkova sings a full album of songs set to her own texts. Once, in the Russian language, the words “poet” and “singer” were synonymous — Red Thread restores this unity.

About the Artists (2)
Alexander ManotskovRussian-speaking performer active in Cyprus's international arts community.
Vera PolozkovaVera Polozkova is a Russian poet and performer born in Moscow in 1986, widely regarded as the most important poetic voice of her generation in Russia. She first gained widespread attention through her personal blog in the early 2000s, which attracted hundreds of thousands of readers and established her as a phenomenon in the Russian literary landscape. Her poetry — passionate, intimate, and shot through with vivid imagery — speaks to themes of love, identity, loss, and the experience of contemporary womanhood. She performs her poetry live with musical accompaniment, creating shows that combine literature and performance in uniquely powerful ways. Her appearance at the Pattihio Theatre in Limassol brought Russian poetic culture to one of Cyprus's most important theatrical stages.Organizer
