England, 1920s. At the home of successful publisher Robert Caplan a "nice little group" of relatives and close family friends has gathered. What begins as a friendly conversation suddenly takes a turn when the subject shifts to Robert’s brother Martin, who a year earlier died by suicide under mysterious circumstances.

Clinging to a small untruth, the host begins to unravel an entire tangle of lies that exposes the true traits and characters of the family members and reveals a terrible truth…
