Oxxxymiron (Miron Fyodor Janovich) is a Russian-British rapper born in St Petersburg in 1985 and widely regarded as the most gifted lyricist in the history of Russian-language hip-hop. Educated at Oxford University, Oxxxymiron brings an extraordinary literary and intellectual depth to his rap, combining complex wordplay, dense cultural references, and emotionally raw storytelling in a style that has no parallel in Russian music. His album Gorgorod (2015) is considered the definitive masterpiece of Russian hip-hop. Since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, Oxxxymiron has been one of the most outspoken Russian voices against the war, performing charity concerts for Ukraine and speaking internationally.
