DakhaBrakha are a Ukrainian ethno-chaos band formed in Kyiv in 2004 under the direction of theatre director Vladyslav Troitskyi. Comprising vocalists and multi-instrumentalists Marko Halanevych, Iryna Kovalenko, Olena Tsibulska, and Nina Garenetska, the band reimagines Ukrainian folk music through an extraordinary range of influences including African rhythms, Central Asian musical traditions, hip-hop, and ambient electronic music. Their theatrical stage presence, traditional Ukrainian costumes, striking visual identity, and hypnotic live performances have earned them a devoted global following and critical acclaim at festivals including Coachella, WOMAD, and major European stages.
