The Return of the Fairy Tales

With pleasure the Federation of Parents and Guardians Associations of Public and Community Nursery Schools of Larnaca District, in collaboration with ETHAL, presents for our little friends the performance “The Return of the Fairy Tales.”

Once upon a time, in the Land of People, children stopped reading and bookstores began closing one after another. The reason? New technology! The news quickly reached the Land of Fairy Tales, which is in serious danger from this new threat. The fairy-tale heroes decide to take action, make children love reading again, and save their Land. The lot falls… on the Queen of Hearts, the Big Bad Wolf, Sleeping Beauty, Peter Pan and Tinkerbell. And so begins an incredible adventure full of surprises, mishaps, magic, music and dance. In the end eeeee… the rest on stage!

ETHAL chooses a contemporary fairy tale, for little and… not so little children, and continues its successful collaboration with the companies Point To Contemporary Theater and Anyhow Theatre Ensemble.

“The Return of the Fairy Tales” by Georgia Paraskeva, in its first Cyprus staging by a professional troupe, reinvents some of the best-known heroes of classic fairy tales for today, who are called to face a serious threat: new technology!

The production breathes new life into classic narratives and brings them to the present through imagination, humor and emotion. Beyond entertainment, the performance aims to strengthen creative thinking, emotional intelligence and social awareness in children – qualities essential for tomorrow’s active audiences and citizens.

The mission to bring this unique story to life on stage has been undertaken by a group of young but talented and experienced artists, offering an even fresher take on the author’s already interesting approach.
