At the next science fiction meeting, the club will discuss Roger Zelazny's novel Lord of Light. .
This happened after the destruction of Earth. On one of the distant colony planets, a group of people came to power who, using scientific advances, achieved immortality and began to rule their world like gods of the Hindu pantheon. But they remained human in the truest sense of the word, retaining human feelings and desires despite their acquired unlimited abilities. And it is unknown whether this made them better off. (c)
