"Rejoice, Bride Unwedded"
A unique spiritual and musical evening will take place at the Municipal Theater of Nicosia on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at 8:00 p.m., in the presence of His Eminence Archimandrite Father Nikodimos Kavarnos, with the participation of the Spiros Kapsaskis Choir conducted by Andreas Pantelidis.
The audience can expect a soulful concert of Byzantine spiritual music.
The evening takes place on the eve of March 25, the Feast of the Annunciation of the Most Holy Mother of God, a holiday of profound theological and spiritual significance for Orthodoxy. This creates a special atmosphere for inner concentration, silence, and prayerful listening.
Also, in anticipation of Holy Week and Easter, the program will feature selected, well-known, and deeply loved hymns of the Holy Days — chants that have left their mark on the collective memory and liturgical life of the Church.
With respect, moderation, and inner concentration, church singing becomes an invitation to spiritual experience and meaningful listening, helping the audience prepare for the Passion of Christ and the Resurrection.
Father Nikodimos' eloquence and expressive, melodious voice make him one of the most iconic figures of the contemporary Byzantine singing tradition. As a protopsaltis and teacher of Byzantine music, Father Nikodimos is known for his deep, lively, and meaningful approach to church hymnography, attracting many believers and connoisseurs of tradition to each of his performances.
The concert at the Municipal Theater of Nicosia invites the audience to an evening of spiritual concentration and deep listening, where tradition meets art, and the word enters into dialogue with Byzantine chant in an authentic and deeply human form.
