This film screening in Nicosia, Cyprus is presented by the A.G. The film is Fate of a Man (1959), directed by and starring Sergei Bondarchuk, based on a short story by Mikhail Sholokhov. It follows a former Soviet soldier as he recounts his life before, during, and after World War II. Released in the post-Stalin era, it became one of the defining Soviet war dramas of its time — a deeply humanist work about survival, loss, and resilience. Screened in Russian with Greek and English subtitles.
