This two-part art therapy workshop, inspired by selected works from the exhibition Cyprus – Νήσος/Cyprus - Insula, takes place at the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation in Faneromeni, Nicosia, Cyprus, on 17 and 24 April 2026. Each session lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes. Participation is free but advance booking is required. No prior art or painting experience is needed.
The workshop invites adults of all ages to explore aspects of Cypriot identity — personal and collective — as shaped by the continuities and discontinuities of Cypriot history. Part A (17 April) focuses on building a composite self-portrait through visual materials, play, and dialogue, creating space for creative expression, self-awareness, and collective connection. Part B (24 April) deepens this process with new creative stimuli, helping participants consciously reflect on personal experiences and connect individual expression with collective memory and identity.
The workshop is facilitated by Lenia Georgiou, Art Therapist and Visual Artist, a member of the Italian Professional Association of Art Therapists (APIArt) and the European Federation of Art Therapists (EFAT). It forms part of the Foundation's multisensory museum experience programme «Aisthiseis» (Senses).
