This poetic theatre production, The Transparent One (I Diaphani), receives its Cyprus premiere at Rialto Theatre in Limassol, Cyprus, on Saturday 2 May 2026 at 20:30. Produced by Lexi Theatre and directed by Marina Vronti, the performance runs for 85 minutes and is performed in Greek.
At the heart of the production stands the elusive figure of Angeliki Nikli, mother of the Greek national poet Dionysios Solomos. In this renewed stage interpretation, the original monologue unfolds into a poetic ensemble of voices — the woman she became, the young Angeliki full of possibility, the murmuring voices of society, and the men whose presence shaped her destiny. These four embodiments gather the scattered fragments of a life into a polyphonic narrative where personal experience transforms into collective remembrance. The production illuminates the woman concealed behind the myth, seeking her lost voice as it reverberates across time.
