About the film:
In 1919, Italian artist Amedeo Modigliani, living in Paris, suffers from poverty and creative stagnation. Fate brings him together with the young artist Jeanne Hébuterne, who becomes his wife and muse. Jeanne’s wealthy parents disapproved of their daughter’s union with a poor and sick artist—Modigliani suffered from tuberculosis.
During another flare-up of his illness, Amedeo and Jeanne travel to the south of France. But their money is rapidly dwindling, and Modigliani’s works are not selling. "Montparnasse 19" is a biographical film chronicling the final months of Italian artist Amedeo Modigliani's life.
The film is in French.
