Knowing the Butterflies of Pedieos: Walk in Nicosia

The Cyprus Sustainable Tourism Initiative, in collaboration with the Open University of Cyprus and with the support of the Department of Environment, organises a guided butterfly walk along the Pedieos River in Nicosia, Cyprus. Participants will observe butterflies and other insects, learn about the plants that attract them, and discover the importance of clean water and green riverbanks for their survival.

The walk highlights the role of butterflies as bioindicators of environmental health and their connection to ecological changes. A short morning stroll along the Pedieos, ideal for anyone interested in the nature and biodiversity of the capital.
