The Corridor

The The Corridor is a dance-theatre production staged as a poetic, polyphonic composition around the concepts of mourning, memory, resistance, and identity. At the core of the work lies the universal experience of farewell and loss, as well as safety, desire, and freedom.

The “corridor” functions as a metaphor for a life path: a point of transition, trial, and transformation, where the familiar coexists with the unfamiliar, the tender with the threatening. Between beginning and end unfolds a fluid intermediate space configured as the architecture of an inner landscape: a purgatory, a psychic labyrinth where fears, weaknesses, and expectations coexist.

The work explores questions concerning absence and grief, time, and the capacity of art to transcend individual experience and open up to collective concerns, thus transforming the stage into a shared field of resistance against violence.

The performers carry traces of memory in their bodies, confront their inner limits, and follow a path of continual recomposition.

The Corridor is a space for reflection and introspection that activates memory and feeling and is transmuted into a deep personal experience: a journey through loss, transformation, and existential solitude – a road that, ultimately, each person is called to cross alone.

The performance takes place within the framework of the “Terpsichore 2026” Grant Programme of the Department of Contemporary Culture of the Deputy Ministry of Culture of Cyprus.
