Experience a relaxing evening hike through the endemic Latzia oak forests of Machairas with panoramic views of Larnaca, Nicosia and Limassol in July 2026.
🚶♂️ 8km circular route, 2.5 hours duration, moderate difficulty level
The hike begins at 6:00 PM from the trail start (gathering at 5:50 PM). What makes this trail special compared to the rest of Machairas forest is its coverage with endemic Latzia oak (Quercus Alnifolia). Throughout the entire route, you'll enjoy impressive views of Larnaca, Nicosia, and Limassol.
After the hike, we'll end at Kionia picnic area for beer and souvlaki. Souvlaki cost is €5 per person (includes souvlaki in pita with tahini, prepared by club members).
