Ungoverned Head: The Alkis Alkaios I Knew

"Ungoverned Head: The Alkis Alkaios I Knew" is a moving musical theatre tribute to one of the most significant poets of contemporary Greek discography, presented in Nicosia, Cyprus. This unique performance takes place on Tuesday, June 16 at 8:30 PM at the University Cyprus Cultural Centre.

Based on Miltos Paschalidis' book of the same title, the performance attempts to illuminate the unseen side of this exceptional creator who chose to remain away from public exposure. Alkis Alkaios shaped a poetic universe that marked entire generations of listeners, leaving his lyrics as the sole form of communication with the world.

The performance features Koulis Theodorou, Myrsini Christodoulou, and Giorgos Evagorou in the role of Miltos Paschalidis. The musical arrangement is handled by an exceptional ensemble of musicians playing bouzouki, lute, violin, piano, guitar, bass, and percussion.

The show explores the deep friendship between Alkaios and Paschalidis, revealing the rare poetic power of a artist who preferred to let his work speak for itself. Through music and narrative, audiences discover the personal story behind some of the most beloved Greek songs.
