A unique concert featuring soloists from the renowned Austrian Vienna Mozart Orchestra, accompanied by professional vocalists, ballet dancers, and the timeless melodies of the Viennese waltz. Immerse yourself in the magic of classical masterpieces by Mozart, the “King of the Waltz” Johann Strauss, Vivaldi, and many other composers.
The Imperial Gala Concert is the only concert series held exclusively at the Palais Auersperg, one of Vienna’s most magnificent Baroque palaces. It was here that Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, the “King of the Waltz” Johann Strauss, and many other composers once performed their dance music and operettas.
The soloists of the Vienna Mozart Orchestra perform masterpieces of Viennese classical music with the highest artistry—from grand concert waltzes to virtuoso ballet music. This is a journey back in time to the era of Imperial Vienna, the golden age of the Viennese musical tradition, when the waltz defined the city’s ballroom culture and dance life. The result is an evening that combines imperial elegance and musical perfection.
The Vienna Mozart Orchestra was founded in 1986. In 2019, the orchestra had the honor of welcoming over 200,000 audience members to 150 concerts in Vienna.
Concerts are regularly held in the city’s most prestigious venues, including the Golden Hall of the Musikverein Wien and the Vienna State Opera. Renowned soloists and conductors collaborate with the Vienna Mozart Orchestra, including musicians from the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and the Vienna Symphony Orchestra. In addition, singers from world-famous opera houses, such as the Vienna State Opera and the Vienna Volksoper (Volksoper Wien), perform with the ensemble.
In addition to its extremely popular concerts in Vienna, the Vienna Mozart Orchestra has performed all over the world—from South America, including Copacabana, through Europe and beyond, all the way to Japan, China, and many other unforgettable cities around the globe.
The Imperial Gala Concert is a magnificent opportunity to experience the living tradition of Viennese musical culture, which has retained its grandeur throughout the centuries.
