Dear friends,
We open the 2026 theater season with the premiere of the play "BREAKING LINE"—based on a script by Irina Mikhailovskaya. This is not just a play—it is an experience. It is a conversation that cannot be postponed.
On stage are the fates of people caught between "here" and "there," between a past that cannot be returned, and a future that has not yet taken shape.
Through a fusion of texts by Bunin, Nabokov, Teffi, Odoevtseva, Ivanov, and Khodasevich, the fragile and painful world of emigration is revealed—a world of loss, choice, inner freedom, and a new identity.
Visual images, music, and lighting create a kaleidoscope of states—from nostalgia and anxiety to hope and acceptance. This is a journey from loss to awareness. "BREAK OFF LINE" is the point where the connection with the past is broken and movement forward begins. This performance is about anyone who has ever felt "out of home."
