About This Event

"Voice and Soil" is a bicommunal artistic initiative by young people exploring memory, personal narratives and the history of Cyprus in Nicosia, Cyprus. The performance will be presented on June 18, 2026 at 21:00 at Kafenion ERMIS.

Through women's voices and experiences, the performance illuminates what divides us but also what unites us, creating a living space of encounter between Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots. With a contemporary theatrical approach and emphasis on the power of speech and music, the work attempts to open an honest dialogue about peace around memory, identity and our collective responsibility towards the present and future.

"Voice and Soil" doesn't provide answers but poses questions and invites the audience to think and feel them. The cast includes Freideriki Tombazou, Semeli Kyriazi and Nasia Kelepesi, with on-stage musicians Stelios Papamichael and Evros Voskaridis. A live music session with the performance musicians will follow.
