A new tradition is born in the heart of the Limassol mountains! Silikou honors its ancient olive trees, traditions, and culture through a two-day event dedicated to history, nature, and local products.
A new cultural and culinary event is set to join Cyprus’s festival calendar, focusing on one of the countryside’s most significant natural and cultural treasures. The Silikos Community Council has officially announced the organization of the 1st Silikos Centennial Olive Tree Festival, which will take place on October 3 and 4, 2026.
The new festival aims to become an annual tradition for the community, showcasing the region’s impressive ancient olive trees, the village’s cultural heritage, local products, and the unique natural beauty of the Limassol mountains.
The events will be held at Silikou Square and the Olive Oil Museum, offering visitors the opportunity to learn firsthand about the history of the olive tree and olive oil, as well as to enjoy an authentic experience of Cypriot hospitality.
The festival is expected to combine culture, tradition, gastronomy, and entertainment, placing special emphasis on the region’s timeless connection to the olive tree—a tree that for centuries has been a symbol of life, prosperity, and continuity.
In addition to showcasing the centuries-old olive trees that adorn the region, the event aims to highlight local producers, traditional products, and the authentic flavors of Siliko, while also boosting agritourism and visitor numbers to the community.
The organizers invite the public to become part of a new tradition that aspires to become a landmark for the region and all of Cyprus. More information regarding the detailed program, the artists, the activities, and the accompanying events will be announced in the coming days.
