This time with something a little special, given the reception we've had so far - we felt obliged to conduct something with a different objective! As you know we will be branching into a full scale label - as we try to offer something different to the island and continue to build it as a location for techno and music.
Our beloved scene has seen so much growth in the past half decade and we'd like to fortify that - by being able to provide a platform to artists in Cyprus - not only as an event organiser but as a label that publishes and releases music in the techno and housey lanes.
And in that same vein - we will be hosting Tomzy as our first all night long guest! Going B2B w/ 92Groovz. A full night of music, stretching between their extended curations and a delivery of a set curated by two of Limassol's emerging talents.
Two artists from different originations in the techno sphere - Tomzy, a rising act straight from the island - much need not be said! A Selectech resident and contributor to the scene, known for his driving sets and relentless appreciation for groove based pumping selections - he continues to grow as a DJ and most recently his set at Synesthesia's 5 year festival captivated the morning dancefloor! True as can be as a lover of music, a proper oldschool DJ in a contemporary fashion - they don't make DJs like this anymore. A curator who's essence keeps him in the groove and a proper throwback DJ from a younger generation.
92Groovz - a project born out of the Suisse-Romandies scene - an OG member of the Bipolar Disorder Records label that now has his roots in Cyprus - stemming initially from the house scene in Switzerland, releases on the likes of Deadline Records, Diffuse Reality, Introspective Records, Rave Your Soul, Complex Fractals and Trucking Records to name a few - an old head with an eye to establishing Cyprus as a techno hub, not only for events but for the publication of music in that avenue.
A heavy grooving night, with a focus on oldschool and contemporary hardgroove - the genre/style that helped to certify the bond of their friendship and that brought them together in the first place!
We have so much love for that style of music and what it encapsulates, and we cannot wait to display it to the scene here. Just two brudis looking to blend beats and have a good time. Come vibe with us, come dance with us and come see what we represent for the Cyprus hardgroove cuts.
With so many international acts hitting the island of late - at Groove Affair, as much as we love that and conduct the same - we'd like to consolidated the talent we have on the island - and on our long and arduous mission to make Limassol the Berlin/Amsterdam/London/Barcelona/Tbilisi/Medilin of Cyprus (we're dead serious and we know it will take a decade or two) - we feel the need to host a night of such nature.
On that final note - we hope to see you there, come dance, fill the floor - bring a friend or two. And get ready for a night of pounding grooves delivered straight out of Limassol, Cyprus. Hopefully soon to be a techno capital in line with some of the places prior mentioned! As long as we got your help to do the same!
