The Nicosia International Festival (NIF) is Cyprus' largest performing arts festival, held annually at the Nicosia Municipal Theatre in Cyprus, bringing together outstanding international and Cypriot productions across theatre, music, dance and performance. The 2026 edition runs from 12 September to 1 November, co-organised by Nicosia For Art Ltd and the Nicosia Municipality. Eight landmark productions from Greece, France, Lebanon, Ireland and Cyprus take the stage, spanning contemporary dance, music theatre, documentary performance and physical theatre.
From Mario Banushi's award-winning theatrical work — fresh from a Silver Lion at the 2026 Venice Theatre Biennale — to the legendary Camille O'Sullivan making her Cypriot debut with Loveletter, the programme offers something for every lover of the performing arts. The Comédie-Française brings L'Événement (The Event) on 15 September, while choreographer Ali Chahrour presents When I Saw the Sea on 20 September. Fotis Nikolaou's physical theatre piece The Corridor arrives on 4 October, followed by Zoe Chatziantoniou's Amalia Melancholia on 10–11 October and the poetic non-verbal Souvenirs: Claire and Antho on 17 October. The festival closes on 1 November with Camille O'Sullivan's internationally acclaimed Loveletter.
