Zivania Festival - Alona Village

The village of Alona has announced the date of this year’s Zivania Festival, which will take place on Sunday, 25 October. The programme will include traditional music and dancing, a local market, a re-enactment of the grape harvest and grape stomping, among other activities.

Visitors can head to the centre of the village to experience the festival at its heart, meet local residents and watch the traditional, slow process of distilling zivania, Cyprus’s distinctive grape-based spirit. They can also taste zivania accompanied by local cured meats such as chiromeri, lountza and Cypriot sausages.
