Eco-Lab: From Sun to Hydrogen at University of Cyprus

The University of Cyprus Alumni Office invites alumni and their families to a free educational event in Nicosia, Cyprus, at the PHAETHON Centre of Excellence (PHAETHON CoE) on Saturday, 26 September 2026, from 11:00 to 13:00. Set on the University of Cyprus campus (Panepistimiou Ave. 1, 2109 Aglantzia), this hands-on experience unlocks the world of green energy for participants of all ages.

The event opens with a guided tour of PHAETHON's Photovoltaic Systems Laboratory, where participants will explore research infrastructure and cutting-edge technologies for energy production, storage, and smart management. Parents and children will witness first-hand how solar energy is harnessed through real systems and live applications.

Participants will then step into the role of researchers themselves, engaging in interactive workshops and experiments covering solar energy, water, hydrogen, and the smart cities of the future. All sessions are led by PHAETHON's scientific team.

🏛️ A visit to the newly built Faculty of Engineering facilities is also included, offering a glimpse into the University's latest educational and research spaces. The day wraps up with refreshments and an opportunity for participants to reflect on their experience together.

Registration is required even though attendance is free.
