46th Pancyprian Colocasia Festival of Sotira

The Sotira Municipal District of the Municipality of Ayia Napa announces the organisation of the 46th Pancyprian Colocasia Festival on Saturday, 5 September 2026, at Municipality Stadium of Sotira.

The renewed festival returns after two years and is expected once again to attract thousands of local and international visitors.

The festival aims to highlight and promote Sotira's traditional product, which has officially been included since 2016 among the country's recognised Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) products.

Visitors will have the opportunity to discover and taste, through free tastings, traditional, alternative and new recipes based on colocasia. The recipes will be created and presented especially for the festival by professional chefs, cooks, food bloggers and pastry chefs.

Free hands-on workshops, games and activities for children will take place at the event venue, while stalls run by Sotira's organised groups will also be open, selling food, drinks, sweets and other delicacies.

The 46th Pancyprian Colocasia Festival of Sotira will culminate in a rich artistic programme featuring the acclaimed and much-loved Nikos Makropoulos.

Admission is the symbolic amount of €5 and includes free tastings. Admission is free for people with disabilities and children under 12.

The festival is held under the auspices of the Deputy Ministry of Tourism.
