Goodbye, Lindita. A Play by Mario Banushi

After winning the "Silver Lion" at the 2026 Venice Theatre Biennale, Mario Banushi's production "Goodbye, Lindita" comes to Nicosia - a production that has already won over audiences and theatre critics around the world.

About the performance:
Following sold-out performances and enthusiastic reviews in Athens, where it premiered, as well as appearances at major festivals and leading theatre venues in Belgrade, Dresden, Amsterdam, Adelaide, Madrid, Munich, Stockholm, Vienna, Berlin and Venice, "Goodbye, Lindita" finally arrives in Nicosia.

It is one of the most unusual productions in contemporary European theatre. At the heart of the performance is the universal and painful human experience of losing a loved one.

Inside an ordinary home, a family quietly experiences its grief. Gradually, however, strange, almost supernatural events begin to occur, opening the door to a space where memories intertwine with imagination and reality merges with dreams.

Mario Banushi draws inspiration from his own memories and his experience of Balkan funeral rituals. Together with outstanding artists, he explores this inevitable part of human existence through an atmosphere of profound, almost sacred silence.

Banushi is considered one of the brightest young representatives of Greek theatre. Just two months before the performance in Nicosia, he won the renowned "Silver Lion" at the 2026 Venice Theatre Biennale.

Age restriction: the performance is not recommended for audiences under 16.

Concession tickets are available for pensioners aged 65+, students, unemployed people and people with disabilities (PwD), as well as their accompanying persons. People with disabilities enter free of charge upon presentation of the relevant certificate, while one accompanying person is entitled to a concession ticket.
