Black Owl House Theatre

About This Event
The much-loved BLACK OWL HOUSE Theatre is back in Limassol!
Musical performances for children and parents that leave no one indifferent — bright, contemporary, and incredibly touching.
BLACK OWL HOUSE creates interactive musical performances where puppets share the stage equally with dramatic actors, while the audience becomes fully involved in everything happening on stage
From the organisers:
In March 2026, we had the pleasure of seeing the performance “Everything Is Simple”, which BLACK OWL HOUSE brought to the Olive Pit International Theatre Festival.
After seeing it, we knew that as many people as possible should have the chance to experience these wonderful performances — extraordinary, heartfelt, funny, touching and philosophical. And we decided that we would do everything we could to bring this theatre back to Limassol.
And now BLACK OWL HOUSE is coming to perform for us again!
This time they are bringing two performances: “That Very Pippi”, about the adventures of Pippi Longstocking and her friends, and “The Earless Rabbit”, a story about the feelings and experiences of those who are different from others.
Read the performance descriptions, choose your tickets and come join us — we’ll laugh and cry together :)
See you at the theatre!

Detailed Performance Descriptions
“That Very Pippi”
Musical Performance
Who doesn’t know Pippi Longstocking? Everyone knows Pippi. Well, almost everyone!
A mischievous dreamer with carrot-coloured hair, a rebellious spirit and a kind heart. A strong girl who isn’t afraid of villains, knows what true friendship means, and teaches everyone around her to be themselves.
That very Pippi invites boys and girls, mums and dads, grandmothers and grandfathers into her world filled with cheerful fantasies and funny adventures.
A performance in Russian for children aged 3 to 13 and adults of all ages.
The performance is based on a libretto by playwright Yuliy Kim, inspired by the stories of Swedish writer Astrid Lindgren, with music by Vladimir Dashkevich.
From the creators of the performance, the artists of BLACK OWL HOUSE:
“When we were children, we listened over and over again to the Melodiya record of the musical Pippi Longstocking, with music by Vladimir Dashkevich and a libretto by Yuliy Kim.
And when we decided to take on a performance about the adventures of the red-haired, freckled girl named Pippilotta Viktualia Rollgardina Longstocking, we realised that it was simply impossible to write songs better than those created by these two great artists 38 years ago.
So we gathered our courage, found the authors’ contact details and wrote to them asking for permission to use their songs in our performance. A couple of days later, we received the replies we had been hoping for: “Permission granted,” along with their wishes of good luck.
And we are absolutely delighted that our children — and yours — will have the chance to hear and fall in love with the songs their parents grew up with.”

“The Earless Rabbit”
“All rabbits are supposed to have ears,” they said. “But you’re not a real rabbit!”
Meet The Earless Rabbit — an incredibly touching, meaningful and important performance. A warm musical story about the feelings and experiences of those who are different from others in some way.
What do you do if you’re not like everyone else?
Or rather, that’s not quite right. You seem to be just like all the other ordinary rabbits — you can jump, dig burrows and you love carrots… But there is one thing that makes you different from the rest: you have no ears.
At first glance, it might even seem like an advantage — you’re much better at hide-and-seek than the other rabbits. But the others don’t really care about that. They still tease you and keep their distance. Because you’re different.
This is the story of a special rabbit without ears who dreams of finding a true friend. A friend who will love him even though he is different from everyone else.
A story that teaches children such important things as true friendship, empathy and tolerance.
The funny characters and the story itself were created by the well-known German actor, director and screenwriter Til Schweiger. The Earless Rabbit and the Eared Chick first appeared in his film Rabbit Without Ears (2007) and later became the characters of a children’s picture book created by Til Schweiger together with illustrator and children’s author Klaus Baumgart.
The performance is in Russian and is suitable for children aged 3 to 9 and adults of all ages.
And there will be a crunchy treat waiting for the children at the end of the performance! 🥕
