Residue. A Dance Performance
About This Event
What do we take with us when we leave a place?
What memories remain in the body? And what happens to the things we love, lose, and continue to hold within ourselves?
Residue is a contemporary dance performance by choreographer Miranti Panagiotou, dedicated to memory, the connection to one’s homeland, and the human ability to preserve the invisible.
Together with musician Kypriana Konstantinidou, who plays the santur, and five performers, the choreographer explores the very act of preservation—of objects, stories, bodies, and human relationships.
Images of water, fabrics, ropes, manual labor, and everyday care appear on stage. Through movement and sound, the performance draws on Cyprus’s cultural memory, its landscapes, and its traditions.
The santur—a traditional stringed instrument—takes center stage, becoming a full-fledged participant in the performance. Its sound, born of wood, strings, breath, and repetition, creates a unique atmosphere reminiscent of labor, rituals, and the rhythm of the sea.
Residue is a story about what remains with us after change:
about the places we carry within us,
about the people we continue to remember,
about love and loss,
and about the traces of the past that cannot be erased.
The performance is part of a double bill with All of (Y)our Time. You can purchase a combined ticket for both performances or choose just one.
Duration of Residue: 50 minutes, no intermission.
Tickets:
