The Mosfili Festival

The village of Mosfiloti in the Larnaca district takes its name from the ‘Mosfilia’ tree (wild hawthorn), which grows here in abundance. In May, the village is awash with white blossoms, whilst in October the fruit ripens – making it the perfect time for a grand harvest festival!
This is not just a festival, but a deep immersion into the region’s traditions. Mosfiloti berries have been prized on the island for centuries for their health benefits — locals have traditionally used them as a natural remedy for the heart, to regulate blood pressure and improve digestion.

Fresh, hot bread straight from the wood-fired oven;
Traditional halloumi and anari cheeses;
A hearty, warming trahanas soup;
Favourite grape-based sweets: palouze and souzoukos;
