About This Event
On September 28, the LEA Women Center will host a two-hour workshop dedicated to the traditional first series of Ashtanga Yoga.
This is a dynamic practice in which the breath becomes the foundation of movement, and the sequence of asanas helps develop strength, flexibility, endurance, and concentration. Gradually, the physical practice transforms into a unique form of meditation in motion, helping you slow down and feel a deeper connection with yourself.
The class will be led by experienced yoga instructor Ayelet Ben Or. Participants will learn about the structure and philosophy of the Primary Series, break down key asanas and techniques, perform Surya Namaskar A and B, and be introduced to Kapalabhati pranayama, as well as the opening and closing mantras.
The workshop is suitable for both those who simply want to get acquainted with Ashtanga Yoga and practitioners who wish to improve their technique and gain a deeper understanding of the Primary Series sequence.
The program includes:
— standing and seated asanas;
— inversions;
— breathwork;
— kriya and pranayama;
— proper body alignment;
— techniques for performing basic asanas;
— developing strength, flexibility, and body awareness.
As a result, participants will gain practical knowledge that they can apply during their independent practice.
