About This Event
AntiLogos Theatre presents the theatrical adaptation of Constantia Soteriou's novel «Brandy Sour» - a story in which Cyprus's past and present are intertwined through people's lives, memories, and events connected to the legendary Ledra Palace.
Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot actors will share the stage. The performance is presented in Greek and Turkish and accompanied by subtitles. Through the characters' personal stories, the production explores themes such as memory, identity, loss, a sense of belonging, and the effort to understand the past.
The venue where the performance takes place creates a distinctive atmosphere. In Nicosia, the production is staged in the garden of Goethe-Institut Cyprus, in the UN buffer zone, next to the historic Ledra Palace - a place that has itself become part of the island's complex history.
«Brandy Sour» is not merely a performance about the past. It is an opportunity to see Cyprus's history through human stories, hear different voices, and reflect on how past events continue to shape the present.
