An Evening of Jazz with Marios Toumbas

On October 1, Sarah’s Jazz and Blues Club in Nicosia will host a concert by the Marios Toumbas Trio—an evening of classic jazz with a contemporary sound.

The Marios Toumbas Trio is a Cypriot ensemble formed by three Berklee graduates and longtime friends: pianist Marios Toumbas, double bassist Irenaios Koulouras, and drummer Ioannis Vafias.

The trio is led by the talented pianist Marios Toumbas. The program will feature compositions and arrangements from the post-bop era, as well as works by prominent figures in the jazz scene, including Clifford Brown, Wayne Shorter, Chick Corea, and Joey Calderazzo.

The group’s repertoire also includes original compositions by Marios Toumbas, so the audience can expect a blend of traditional straight-ahead jazz and a more contemporary sound.

It will be an evening of live music in the cozy atmosphere of one of Nicosia’s renowned jazz clubs. Guests will not only be able to enjoy the concert but also order food and drinks: the menu features pizza, the club’s signature jazz appetizer, chicken wings, and other dishes. The bar offers wine, cocktails, non-alcoholic cocktails, beer, and other beverages.

It is recommended to purchase tickets in advance, as the number of tables is limited.
