About This Event
A packed programme of cultural and culinary events awaits visitors. The main theme of this year’s festival will be weaving and embroidery. The exhibitions will feature artisans from Cyprus’s renowned craft centres, such as Lefkara, Fiti, Athienou, Omodos, Kalavas and Lapithos.
Visitors will be able to watch live demonstrations of traditional Cypriot crafts and take part in interactive workshops.
Over the course of two days at the festival, visitors will be able to sample traditional local dishes and freshly prepared treats: kleftiko, sheftalia, resi and much more, as well as desserts and snacks.
In addition, renowned chefs Christina Christofi and Androulla Kefala will be hosting a cookery workshop on how to make traditional Cypriot pasta.
For both young and adult guests, there will be performances by the famous ‘Pafios’ shadow theatre, featuring the main character Karagiozis, as well as a workshop run by the ‘Contemporary Shadow Theatre’, where children can make their own puppets for the performances.
Numerous dance and music groups will perform on stage, as well as masters of traditional Cypriot singing competitions – the ‘tsiatists’.
The festival will conclude with a grand musical performance by the renowned Cypriot singer Vasiliki Hadjiadamou and her orchestra.
