About This Event
From October 16 to 31, the Kypriaki Gonia Gallery in Larnaca will host a solo exhibition by Cypriot artist Spyros Agathou titled “unnamed.”
The exhibition opening will take place on October 16 at 7:30 p.m.
The title “unnamed” reflects the central idea of the artist’s new series of works. Agathou turns to the inner world of the human being, to complex and contradictory feelings that cannot always be accurately described in words.
In his works, the artist explores what lies between tension and calm, presence and absence. Through color, texture, gesture, and the painterly surface, he creates images that invite the viewer to feel and experience them rather than to find a single correct interpretation.
The exhibition leaves room for personal interpretation: each visitor can see something of their own in the works—their own memories, emotions, or experiences.
The exhibition is curated by Chrysilia Filiastidis.
For Spiros Agatas, this marks a return to the Kypriaki Gonia Gallery after nearly ten years. His solo exhibitions “MIMNISKO” (2007) and “MIMNISKO II” (2016) were previously held here. His works have also been exhibited in Cyprus and abroad, including in Italy, Spain, Greece, Mexico, and the United Kingdom.
The exhibition will appeal to those who love contemporary painting and art that does not provide ready-made answers but invites viewers to engage in their own dialogue with the artwork.
