About This Event
The 4th Wine Festival will take place on Sunday, 1 November 2026, in the main square of the village of Platanistasa.
This colourful autumn event in Cyprus celebrates centuries-old winemaking traditions and genuine island hospitality.
The festival invites locals and tourists alike to spend their Sunday in the cosy atmosphere of a mountain village, where wine brings people together, just as it did in the good old days.
The organisers are placing an emphasis on tradition: here, wine will be served from large earthenware jugs — known as ‘pifari’ — recreating the atmosphere of authentic village festivals of years gone by.
Upon entering the square, visitors can purchase a commemorative festival glass for just €2. This glass entitles the holder to sample the finest local wines directly from the producers, free of charge and with no limit on the number of tastings.
Traditional music will be played and folk dances performed in the square all day long. Guests will not only be able to sample drinks, but also experience Cypriot folklore.
The event is billed as the perfect excuse for a Sunday trip to the mountains with the whole family or a large group of friends.
