The 3rd Cyprus Poster Triennial (Cyprus Poster Triennial-CPT) continues its journey as an international platform dedicated to the contemporary poster, while positioning Cyprus as a meeting point for the global design community in the Eastern Mediterranean. The 2026 edition presents an exhibition of more than 300 selected works, chosen through an Open International Call, which attracted more than 3,000 submissions from creators representing over 100 countries, confirming the Triennial's steadily growing international reach.
Since its establishment in 2019, the Cyprus Poster Triennial (Cyprus Poster Triennial-CPT) has become an independent, non-profit platform dedicated to graphic design and visual communication. The poster is approached as a dynamic medium that has long conveyed ideas, shaped public discourse and reflected the cultural and social identity of each era.
This year's Triennial, hosted at the Limassol Municipal Arts Centre - Papadakis Warehouses, is organised around six thematic categories: Social Posters, Cultural Posters, Advertising & Commercial Posters, Animated/Motion Posters, Experimental Posters, and the thematic category Modernism(s) and the Fabulous Now!, which invites creators to reconsider the legacy of Modernism through a contemporary lens.
The majority of selected works fall within the Social and Cultural Posters categories, highlighting the poster's historic role as a medium for social awareness, cultural participation and public dialogue. These works demonstrate that visual communication remains one of the most powerful tools for shaping collective consciousness.
At the same time, the Animated/Motion Posters category marks the Triennial's expansion into new technologies and evolving forms of digital communication. Through movement and animation, the poster transcends the static printed surface and is transformed into a multidimensional visual medium that redefines the relationship between creator and viewer.
Alongside the exhibition, an extensive programme of public events will take place, including lectures, workshops, educational activities, guided tours for schools and the general public, as well as meetings between the public, professionals and students. Through these activities, the Triennial aims to foster visual literacy and strengthen critical dialogue around the role of visual communication in contemporary society.
