Babies Are Brought by the Stork in Nicosia

Can a baby change everyone's lives? Some stories make us laugh, others move us, and some manage to do both. The beloved play by Michalis Reppas and Thanasis Papathanasiou, "Babies Are Brought by the Stork", belongs to the latter category and opens at Θέατρο Ανεμώνα from 9 October.

The story takes us to Thessaloniki under German occupation, during one of the darkest periods in modern history. Amid fear, hunger and uncertainty, the longing for a baby becomes the catalyst for a human story full of twists, comic situations and deep emotion.

Armed with love, solidarity and humour, the characters try to endure and keep hope alive. Laughter coexists with anxiety, and tenderness with the harshness of the era, in a production that reminds us that even in the most difficult circumstances, the human need for life and love can illuminate the darkness.

Directed by Marinos Xenofontos, the cast includes Eirini Konstantinou, Giannis Kokkinos, Christopher Greco, Elena Cheileti, Gianna Lefkati, Angelos Chatzimichael and Nikolas Arkadiou.

The production will be presented for a limited number of performances at the home venue of Θέατρο Ανεμώνα in Nicosia, before travelling to Paphos, Larnaca and Limassol.
