    About This Event

EOS Lefkosias (the Hellenic Mountaineering Club of Nicosia) organises a combined mountain hike in the Madari area of Cyprus, linking two of the island's most spectacular trails on Sunday, 18 October 2026. Suitable for physically fit participants of all ages, the route offers breathtaking scenery, dense forests, and panoramic views across the Morphou Bay and the Troodos mountain range.

The hike combines the Selladi tou Karamanli trail — which climbs steadily through thick forest up to the Madari summit — with the Teisia tis Madaris trail, one of the most popular routes in Cyprus for its rich vegetation, dramatic vertical cliffs, and steep ravines that form a truly unique landscape. 🏔️ Participants who prefer a more relaxed outing may walk only the Selladi section and return.

Meeting point: Selladi tou Karamanli trailhead, 2 km past the village of Saranti towards Spilia.

    Google Maps: bit.ly/3QeU32w

    Distance: 13 km (round trip)

Difficulty: Level 3 – High (steep ascents and descents, significant elevation changes)

Points of interest: The Madari Fire Lookout Tower commands sweeping views over Morphou Bay and the Troodos Range. 🌿 The surrounding area is known for producing grapes, wine, zivania, chestnuts, hazelnuts, apples, figs, and almonds.
