About This Event
This illustrated talk explores the Camino de Santiago through the experience of a solo traveller who walked its Portuguese coastal route. Elena Sidorova will share her 270 km journey from Porto to Santiago de Compostela, accompanied by photographs and videos.
The talk will cover the route’s history, significance and cultural heritage alongside Elena’s own experience of walking it alone. It brings together the background of a European pilgrimage route and a personal account of travelling along it, making it relevant both to those considering their own Camino and to anyone interested in travel, geography and cultural history.
Elena is a graduate of Moscow State University, where she specialised in economic and social geography and urban studies. She also creates projects and guided tours exploring Nicosia and Cyprus’s cultural heritage.
The talk will be in Russian. A glass of sangria and a portion of Spanish tortilla are included in admission. Advance booking is required.
