About This Event
The Goethe-Institut Zypern (Goethe-Institut Cyprus) is organizing the fourth edition of GoetheKino, titled "Questions for What Remains". Through this series of screenings and discussions, issues related to the passage of time are explored from different perspectives. Each film serves as a starting point for exchanging views and reflection in a relaxed setting. The discussions feature Olga Kourelou, film academic, along with experts on the themes of each film, creating a connection with the Cypriot context.
With October 1st marking the International Day of Older Persons and November 15th the European Day of Music Therapy, the series continues on October 21st with the documentary "Heaven Can Wait - Wir leben jetzt" by Sven Halfar. At the heart of the documentary is a choir from Hamburg, whose members are at least 70 years old and experience the indescribable sense of freedom that singing brings. The documentary challenges prejudices about aging, focusing on community, joy and resilience, with an enthusiastic energy.
Antri Irakleous, music therapist and performer, will be with us for a discussion on how music and singing strengthen resilience and improve well-being.
