Brandy Sour in Deryneia

The Antilogos Theatre presents the opening production of the 2026-2027 season, Brandy Sour, a stage adaptation of the eponymous award-winning novel by Kostantia Sotiriou, directed by Neokles Neokleous.

This performance will bring to life stories from the once glamorous, but today abandoned Grand Hotel, the Ledra Palace, which remains a timeless landmark for most Cypriots. This production will bring together Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot actors, bridging the present and the past and recomposing the contemporary mosaic of Cypriot reality.

From the garden of the Goethe Institute, located next to the Ledra Palace, the glamorous hotel that hosted celebrities, artists, politicians, rebels and soldiers, peacekeepers and negotiators, takes on the leading role it deserves.

Through shared narration, in a bilingual setting that includes both Common Greek and Common Turkish, as well as their respective dialects, stories of people who experienced the glory, the fall and the division will come to life. Inspired by the historic Ledra Palace building and the people who visited it, worked there or simply passed by outside, we invite you to an on-stage exploration of our identity and history, the history of our land.
