Zivani Festival

The festival is dedicated to Cyprus’s main national spirit – zivania. It will take place on 7 and 8 November in the village of Pelendri.

Traditional stills – known as ‘kazans’ – will be set up in the square. You’ll be able to witness first-hand the time-honoured, slow process of distilling grape pomace and sample fresh, warm zivania.

The market stalls will be selling local produce: fresh palouze pudding, regional meat specialities, dried fruit, baked goods and, of course, various types of zivania.

There will be an extensive cultural programme featuring live folk music, Cypriot drinking songs and performances by dance troupes.
