Family Getaway Weekend: Space, Science and Halloween Fun

A journey beneath the stars, a family treasure hunt and a little Halloween mystery: Family Getaway Weekend brings space, science and play together for two days at The Cyprus Planetarium. Families can move between dome shows, virtual reality and creative activities, with time for lunch along the way.

The event takes place on Saturday, 31 October, and Sunday, 1 November 2026. The planetarium’s published weekend opening hours are 10:00–18:00. For these dates, the advertised admission package is the Day Pass with Buffet: €21 per child, €32 per adult or €85 for two adults and two children. It includes unlimited dome shows, VR360 experiences and VR gaming, plus the buffet served from 13:00 to 16:00. Every Child Day Pass also includes a soft ice cream; toppings are extra.

The activity programme is the same on both days. Family Treasure Hunts run from 11:00 to 12:00 and from 16:30 to 17:30, with a Family Day Pass including buffet for a future visit awarded to the winning team. Toxic Lab Experiments take place in the Conference Room at 12:30–13:00, 13:00–13:30, 15:30–16:00 and 16:00–16:30, with up to 20 participants per session. Mud Crafting runs in Office 13 at 11:00–11:30, 14:30–15:00, 15:30–16:30 and 16:30–17:00, with up to 12 participants per session. Children’s temporary tattoos and mascot appearances are also announced.

Spooky Explorer is a separate experience costing €20 per person, with 20 places per session. It combines spooky stories and constellations in the inflatable planetarium outside Building 3 with a 3D-printed Halloween lamp to take home. It is not included in the Day Pass. The poster and event description list sessions at 11:30 and 15:00, while the booking selector currently displays different times; please confirm your session with the planetarium before purchasing.
