About This Event
Who can move freely through a city, and who encounters barriers along the way? Accessible Cities: From Challenges to Solutions examines how public spaces can better serve the people who use them. Accessibility, universal design, urban mobility and young people’s role in shaping more inclusive cities are the focus of this closing event for the European ACT4DYS project.
The announced participants bring different perspectives to the conversation. They include Nicosia Deputy Mayor Chrysanthos Fakas; Themida Anthopoulou, President of the Cyprus Confederation of Organisations of the Disabled; road safety ambassador Rafaela Miltiadous; Vasiliki Charitonos, a fashion designer creating clothing for people with mobility disabilities; and wheelchair basketball player Sotiris Christoforou.
The event is open to the public, particularly young people, people with disabilities, community organisations and anyone interested in making everyday urban life more accessible. CARDET and Nicosia Municipality are organising the meeting with support from the Cyprus Confederation of Organisations of the Disabled.
The discussion takes place on Thursday, 19 November 2026, from 09:00 to 12:30 at Lemon Park in Latsia, Nicosia. Advance registration is required through the form linked on the event page. For enquiries, contact CARDET at [email protected] or +357 22 002100.
