Book Presentation «Microcosmics»

The Municipality of Strovolos and Εκδόσεις Μωβ Σκίουρος invite you to the presentation of the novel «Microcosmics» by Evangelia Charalampous, on Tuesday, 27 October at 19:00 at the Strovolos Cultural Centre.

«Microcosmics» (Εκδόσεις Μωβ Σκίουρος, Athens, 2026) is an episodic, social novel (336 pages) that unfolds the stories of the people of a city. It consists of 52 stories of everyday people, some shorter and some longer, which together form the mosaic of the city. Told in the third person, many microcosms form a mosaic of microcosms that connect and interact. 52, like the weeks of the year, like the cards in a deck. With humour and tenderness, these stories speak of love, separation, loneliness, the need for communication, fanaticism, social classes, wealth, poverty, existential themes, etc.

This is a social, inclusive novel, both in its themes and its characters. The stories unfold over the course of a year, during which a Visitor arrives in the city to study, on the one hand, the people and their stories and, on the other, the relationship people have with the city, what it means to them, and how it affects them.
