Humble Lands: Beyond the Western Framework - Intercultural Modernisms

International contemporary art exhibition from Cyprus, Bulgaria and the United Kingdom.

An initiative of In Situ, the international exhibition Humble Lands: Beyond the Western Framework - Intercultural Modernisms is presented at the Limassol Municipal Art Gallery. It brings into dialogue works by contemporary artists from Cyprus, Bulgaria and the United Kingdom with selected works from the Municipal Art Gallery's collection, including works by Christoforos Savvas, Stas Paraskou and Glyn Hughes.

Expressing a broader approach to modernism, the exhibition explores how historical, social, political and ecological conditions continue to shape contemporary artistic creation, proposing a polyphonic view of modernism grounded in different places, histories and experiences.
