Heritage & Sweets Walk

About This Event
A Byzantine church, a traditional house and a sweet-making tradition come together on this guided walk through Geroskipou, east of Pafos. Organised by the Pafos Regional Board of Tourism, the three-hour programme introduces the area through its monuments, everyday heritage and local products.
One of its landmarks is Agia Paraskevi, a ninth-century church distinguished by its five domes. Its architecture offers a different perspective on a town whose name is traditionally associated with the sacred gardens of Aphrodite. The walk brings these stories into contact with the places that preserve them.
The programme also includes the Folk Art Museum, housed in the eighteenth-century House of Hadjismith. Its collections explore traditional domestic life, crafts and occupations. Geroskipou’s well-known loukoumi provides another connection with local history: the soft, sugar-dusted sweets remain one of the area’s characteristic products.
The November walks covered by this listing take place on Tuesdays, 10, 17 and 24 November 2026, from 09:30 to 12:30. Participants meet at the public bus stop on Geroskipou’s municipal square. Participation in the guided walk is free.
For information and reservations, contact the Pafos Regional Board of Tourism at [email protected], +357 26 811500 or +357 26 960857. The official calendar lists the event as “FREE GUIDED WALKING TOUR IN IEROKIPIA”: https://www.visitpafos.org.cy/music-dance-fun/calendar-events/.
