The Three Triplets and the Dragon of the Apple Tree

The first production of the children's stage of Theatre AntíLogos. A traditional fairy tale adapted by Andris Theodotou.

On the occasion of Theatre AntíLogos's tenth anniversary, we present a new performance of the first production of our children's stage "The Three Triplets and the Dragon of the Apple Tree" - a traditional fairy tale adapted by Andris Theodotou.

After ten years, this October, a folk tale of three and more centuries comes to life again, which reached us recorded by Lambro Polycarpou, in an award-winning edition with engravings by Hambi. A Cypriot fairy tale, which with some variations is preserved in other countries of the world - Greece, Turkey, Albania, Russia, Italy, Norway!

In the Kingdom of the Triplets, the three royal twins, the apples mysteriously disappear from the apple tree in the royal garden. Then the three brothers take on the task of finding the thief of the apples. An adventure with all the basic ingredients of a fairy tale: chase and obstacles, love at first sight and a great adventure until the happy ending.

The Cypriot fairy tale becomes inspiration again to take the stage, the book itself with Hambi's famous engravings and the art of oral tradition, as part of our intangible cultural heritage. Finally, our inspiration is also the 2016 performance, directed by our late friend and collaborator Alexia Papalazarou, which traveled to theaters and schools throughout Cyprus until 2020.

An old and universal fairy tale unfolds from October, to travel together, young and old, to the old times, but also to fantastic worlds, to talk about friendship, family, courage, adventure and love.
