French violinist Jean-Samuel Bez performs Bach Extended at Technopolis 20 in Paphos on Friday, 6 November 2026, a solo concert exploring three centuries of music through the exceptional capabilities of the violin.

At the core of the program is Johann Sebastian Bach's Partita No. 2 in D minor, whose movements are interwoven with works from the 20th and 21st centuries. Bach becomes the common thread of an evening that moves from the folk-inspired worlds of Béla Bartók and George Enescu, through the meditative music of Franz Rechsteiner, the rich polyphony of Eugène Ysaÿe, the wit of Fritz Kreisler, and the rhythms of Astor Piazzolla's tango.

From a single melodic line to the illusion of many simultaneous voices, from meditation to dance and wit, Bach Extended reveals the remarkable range of colors and characters that can emerge from four strings.

Jean-Samuel Bez performs more than 100 concerts every year and is particularly active in chamber music, contemporary creation, and the discovery of less well-known repertoire. His discography includes Fantaisies, Étincelles and Secrets, as well as several recordings with Trio Spilliaert. He studied in France, Belgium and Vienna, where his teachers included Michael Frischenschlager.
